Reviews and reputation

After a booking is completed, both the renter and the gear owner can leave a review of each other. Reviews help build trust across the marketplace and give new members something to go on before their first booking.

Leaving a review

You'll be prompted to leave a review shortly after a rental is completed. Be honest and specific — reviews are most useful to the community when they reflect the actual experience of the rental.

Linking industry credentials

If you work in film or production professionally, you can link relevant industry credentials to your profile to show verified experience. These show up as a badge on your profile rather than a public outbound link, and full details unlock for other members once you've completed a booking together — this keeps your professional information visible for trust purposes without exposing it to anyone browsing the platform.

Why reputation matters

A strong history of completed bookings and positive reviews makes it easier for renters to get approved quickly and for owners' gear to get booked — it's one of the main ways GearLend builds trust between people who haven't rented from each other before.
