Understanding shoot-day pricing

GearLend prices rentals based on the number of shoot days you actually need the gear for, not the total number of days it's in your possession.

How it works

  • Pickup and drop-off days are free. If you pick up gear the day before your shoot and return it the day after, you're not charged for those two days, only for the days you're actually shooting.
  • Every booking is a minimum of 1 shoot day, even for a same-day pickup and return.
  • Weekends inside a shoot range are treated as a single day. If your shoot spans a Saturday and Sunday, that weekend pair counts as one shoot day rather than two.

Example

Say you pick up a camera package on a Thursday, shoot Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and return the gear on Monday:

  • Thursday (pickup) and Monday (return): free
  • Friday: 1 shoot day
  • Saturday + Sunday: counted as 1 shoot day (the weekend rule)

That's 2 shoot days billed in total, even though the gear was out for four days.

Why GearLend prices this way

Traditional rental pricing often charges for every day equipment is off the shelf, including travel and handover time. Shoot-day pricing is designed to reflect what you're actually using the gear for, which keeps rentals fairer and more affordable for short shoots with pickup or drop-off on either end.
